As a graduate student in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of California, Los Angeles, Brenda Gonzalez-Rayo is passionate about contributing to affordable housing that is community-informed and prioritizes thoughtful design. Her lived experiences have shaped her commitment to exploring how housing can be a tool for placemaking and community building, especially in the context of navigating place, identity, and the need for stable homes.

With a particular interest in the development side of the sector, Brenda is eager to explore how creative financing and community-led approaches can come together to support housing that is both well-designed and socially impactful.
