Laurence Hicks is a Master of Real Estate Development student at UCLA whose professional experience spans affordable housing development and public-sector advisory. Through his work, he has seen firsthand how capital, public policy, and community priorities shape housing outcomes.

Laurence is passionate about leveraging innovative financing strategies and cross-sector partnerships to expand housing opportunity and create communities that support economic mobility. As a Merritt Scholar, he looks forward to deepening his understanding of California’s affordable housing ecosystem, strengthening his expertise in real estate development and finance, and building meaningful relationships across the industry.
