Ronaldo Esquivel

Ronaldo Esquivel is a first-generation college graduate from UCLA, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Spanish. This fall, he will begin a Master of Public Administration program at the University of Southern California, building on his commitment to public service and community development.

Through his work in the Oxnard community and as a Community Outreach Specialist at the Port of Hueneme, Ronaldo has developed a passion for expanding access to resources and affordable housing. He is particularly interested in housing policy, resident services, and local government, with a focus on elevating residents’ voices and strengthening underserved communities across California.

As a Merritt Scholar, Ronaldo hopes to deepen his understanding of housing systems, strengthen his leadership skills, and build relationships with public-sector leaders committed to creating more accessible, sustainable communities.
