Senior Acquisitions Manager

As Senior Acquisitions Manager, Cristina Gomez helps drive portfolio expansion through mission-driven investments and thoughtful partnership development. She brings more than a decade of experience in affordable housing development and finance, most recently serving as Senior Financial Consultant at the California Housing Partnership before joining Merritt. Prior to the California Housing Partnership, she had project management roles at BRIDGE Housing Corporation, Affirmed Housing Group, and Community HousingWorks, where she contributed to the development or rehabilitation of nearly 1,000 units for families, veterans, farmworkers, and formerly homeless individuals.

Cristina’s dedication to Merritt’s mission has been a significant part of her career journey through her longstanding engagement in our Commitment to California programs. From serving as a mentor for both Merritt Scholars and SOAH to being a graduate of HDTI and the CCRH internship program, her commitment to workforce development has directly resulted in shaping the futures of affordable housing leaders.

Cristina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Planning from UC San Diego, where she first cultivated her passion for equitable community development.
