With our Commitment to California initiative, launched in early 2022, we are providing financial support to our industry partners to focus on the sustainability, equity, and diversity for the future of affordable housing.
We partnered with LISC to support the Housing Development Training Institute (HDTI) with a $750,000 grant over the next three years to expand the program. This year, 50 affordable housing professionals were chosen to participate in this intensive, year-long training and skills program. HDTI seeks to increase affordable and accessible housing for communities of color, by communities of color.
HDTI has been running for 30 years and is the only training of its kind for affordable housing professionals and future leaders. Merritt believes in the importance of creating a stronger and more diverse future for the industry and is excited to help this program grow.
