Expanding the Merritt Scholars Program

March 3, 2022

Merritt Scholars Program will be offering four times as many scholarships and deepening the support offered through mentorship and industry exposure.

March 3, 2020-OAKLAND, CA

The Merritt Scholars program, started in 2009, was created to attract the next generation of affordable housing finance and development professionals.

As part of Merritt’s new initiative, Commitment to California, Merritt Scholars will be increasing the number of scholarships awarded by four times as many scholars. This program includes a $10,000 scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students, and a meaningful opportunity to learn more about the affordable housing field via access to a mentor, fully paid attendance at local and statewide industry conferences, and engagement with industry leaders.

The expansion of this program allows students an entry point into affordable housing with the support and mentorship that will help them enter the industry of affordable housing.

At the conclusion of the program, Merritt may assist scholars in obtaining a job in the affordable housing field.
