Congratulations to American Family Housing on their newest project: Casa Colibri, located in Midway City, an unincorporated community in Orange County. Casa Colibri will provide sorely needed housing to 50 homeless households as well as 13 low-income individuals along with wrap-around on-site supportive services provided by American Family Housing and Orange County Health Care Agency in one of the highest housing cost areas of the state. In addition, Casa Colibri will be utilizing modular construction to achieve a faster, lower cost delivery of these units.

Merritt Community Capital Corporation is proud to provide $27 million in tax credit equity toward this project for this critical project in Southern California. Thank you to our financing partners at California Bank and Trust, County of Orange, CalOptima, Citibank, and Banner Bank for making this project happen. Casa Colibri is expected to be complete in late 2026.

As California’s nonprofit housing tax credit syndicator, Merritt is dedicated to working with like-minded developers to fill gaps in the market to make the most challenging affordable housing projects possible.
