Merritt is one of California’s leading nonprofit affordable housing funders. Our mission is to invest in affordable housing and people to build a stronger California. For over 35 years, we have been a trusted partner, providing more than $1.6 billion in capital and creating over 12,000 affordable homes across California. Merritt has two primary businesses: (a)investing with mission-aligned developers and funders to make the most challenging affordable housing projects possible and (b) investing in programs that develop the next generation of affordable housing professionals with a focus on making the industry more equitable, diverse, and inclusive. Impact Associate

Title: Impact Associate

Reports to: Impact Manager

Job Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview: The Impact Associate will play a vital role in executing Merritt’s Commitment to California (C2C) initiative, Merritt’s primary strategic community impact arm. C2C is a holistic suite of career development programs designed to empower the affordable housing workforce, shaping the industry to be more representative of the communities it serves. It includes internal in-house career development programs such as Merritt Scholars, and partnerships with external partners funded by Merritt that provide internships, fellowships, training programs, and mentorship.

The Impact Associate will execute program cycles, administer recruitment strategies, analyze participant outcomes, and represent Merritt in statewide career development networks. Over time, this role will assume increasing ownership of program management, external partnerships, communications, and impact reporting. This position is designed as a professional growth pathway toward Impact Manager within 2 years, based on leadership and performance.
